Plain answers to the questions people ask. This covers the website and, in outline, the app in testing.
This website
- If you join the list, we store your email address, the page you were on, whether you ticked the testing box, and the time. Nothing else.
- We use it to tell you when Frames opens near you and, if you asked, to send an early build. You can ask to be removed at any time by replying to any email or writing to hello@frames-ar.com.
- The map on the Features page shows where pieces have been placed, rounded to about a kilometre. It never shows an exact spot.
- No analytics scripts, no advertising trackers. Fonts load from Google Fonts and 3D libraries from public CDNs, which see your IP address as any download does.
The app
- A piece you post is placed at an exact spot, and that spot is shown to other users on the map — that is the point of a piece. You can hide a piece so only its approximate area shows, or turn off its preview so it can only be seen in person.
- Nearby notifications check your position on your phone and only ping when a piece is within about 50 metres. That position is not sent to us.
- Drafts are visible to people who look at your profile unless you turn that off in your profile settings.
- Reported pieces are reviewed by us. Three reports take a piece down pending that review; its owner can dispute.
Frames is an independent project in testing; this page will grow into a full policy before public release. Questions: hello@frames-ar.com.
